Gatorade G Series

Thursday, February 10th, 2011

The add was trying to sell the Gatorade G Series.  This add targeted anyone that is in sports.  They use pro athletes to advertise the series.  For the first type of Gatorade is the pregame drink, they use Usain Bolt and they say that it will give you energy before a game.  The second type is the during game drink that gives you electrolytes to keep you hydrated, and they use Dwight Howard.  The third type is the post game drink that has a bunch of protein that is supposed to help you recover, and they use Peyton Manning.  I think this add was effective because it features top athletes, and people in sports look up to them and think that because their idols drink it they should drink it.  I think it has a positive effect on your health because your body needs electrolytes and protein.

Sleep right, through the night

Thursday, February 10th, 2011

In this add they were trying to sell adjustable night guards.
They are trying to sell this product to anyone who grinds their teeth at night.
They used the catchy phrase “It’s a good night sleep, and a tension-free morning, every morning.”
I think this add is effective because it helps people with sleep isuues at night and prevents them from grinding their teeth.
I think this ad had a positive influence because it makes people think what really goes on while they sleep and if they sleep the right way.

ARIZONA ICED TEA Makes Your Taste Buds Go POW!!

Monday, February 7th, 2011

They are trying to sell Arizona Iced Tea. They were trying to sell it to people who like iced tea and who like drinks that are Yummy. They used really pretty flowers and plants. It made me want to drink it really bad. I think that if you saw this ad then you would want to go to Japan and drink it. I think this ad is a positive health influence, because the tea has stuff in it that’s good for you.

Mighty Bites

Thursday, February 3rd, 2011

In this ad they are trying to sell Mighty Bites cereal. It is mainly directed to children, and mom. The ad is decorated by cereal that are shaped as little kids. They took a picture of a cute little girl using the cereal as a light bulb above her head. A quote was even dedicated to the cereal.

The ad also provides health details, and how it helps your child’s brain develop in a healthy way. It says the cereal has iron, zinc, vitamin C, and pack full of nutrients. Mom’s usually want the best for their kids, so its understandable why they would focus on the health benefits.

I think the ad could sway some parents. It doesn’t show the nutrient  label which could contain a lot of sugar and other unnecessary preservatives. In some ways, I think it somewhat has a positive influence. If some parent was feeding their kid’s foods that are filled with fat, it could make them think about feeding them something more nutritious.

Vicks

Thursday, February 3rd, 2011

They were trying to sell a new Vicks formula. I think the target for this ad was for almost everyone because it’s medicine for when you have cold symptoms. In the ad, they have a huge picture of a key chain kind of thing with a bunch of spoons. I think it would sway people because it’s introducing a new formula for Vicks and it might make people think that it’s more effective than the old one. I think it’s a positive thing because it supposedly works really good.

The New 2011 F-150

Thursday, February 3rd, 2011

In this ad Ford is trying to sell the 2011 F-150. It is focused on mainly on adult buyers because most kids wouldn’t be able to afford it. They are trying to sell this by showing a two page picture of the truck with the words “It’s simple. BURN LESS FUEL. Burn less cash.” I think it would encourage people to buy it because of the promise of burning less fuel and saving money. I think there isn’t really any health influence besides a small negative one, which is you would be healthier if you walked.

Kisses

Thursday, February 3rd, 2011

In the add that I read they were selling Hersey Kisses filled with peanut butter. I think that they were trying to target pretty much anyone that would be able to eat them and enjoy chocolate. Their add really made me stop and look at it because there were gold/yellow swirls covering the whole page and then in the middle was one Hersey’s Kiss with the letters PB&K under it. There was only one kiss on the page and a little bag full down by the bottom of the page. Lots of people love chocolate and peanut butter and if they saw the add they probably would start to crave some chocolate or Hersey Kisses. I think that people would get hungry if they saw the add so people would probably go and buy the product. This add is sort of negative on your health because it is an unhealthy thing that people eat usually more than one of. It is alright if you eat them every once in a while but not all the time.

Video Games

Thursday, February 3rd, 2011

They are trying to sell a video game about a war in the USA. The target for the ad is for people who like video games or America’s history. They have a picture of the statue of Liberty taking up 2 pages of space and the title is (America The Beautiful)  but then the ad centerfold ad and it reveals a giant battle of Russia .vs. USA taking place. Also the title changes to (America The Battlefield). I think the ad is a pretty effective one because of the bug surprise it reveals and also how vivid and large the battle is. I think this is a negative health influence because it promotes violence.

Three olive vodka

Thursday, February 3rd, 2011

The ad is trying to sell a type of vodka. The ad is targeting every one basically. They put an attractive women inside a martini glass. I would say that this is very affective because everybody likes attractive women. This ad looks very positive but really it is very negative. Vodka isn’t very good for your health. It kills brain cells and will make you do stupid stuff if you drink to much.

Mott’s Plus!

Thursday, February 3rd, 2011

The ad I read was for Mott’s Plus juice drinks. The first thing that made me read this ad, was a picture of an adorable little girl. Then, there is a picture of the juice, which looks delicious, and it made me really thirsty. The audience for this ad could be anybody, because it’s juice so it appeals to everybody. This was a very colorful ad, which made me want to read it even more, and there was a catchy phrase that said, “You loved it as a kid… Now it loves you back,” over a picture of a toddler, and an adult. I think this ad was very effective, and would make people want to buy the product. This ad could have a positive, and negative influence. Juice isn’t the best thing for you to drink, so that could be bad, but it is also great tasting, and is 100% juice which makes it better for you.
