Welcome
Welcome Health students, this is your blog page!
What is a blog you ask? A blog is where you can share your personal thoughts, opinions & learning with the rest of the world. It is also a place where we can have class discussions and debates to learn from each other.
You will use this space for many things, such as:
- Daily journals to share your opinions & thoughts on health topics
- Reflecting on what you learned from an activity
- Sharing cool stuff you learned about health outside of class
How to post and comment:
Here are a few things to know about posting and commenting. It is a good idea to use Word to type your information, use spell & grammar check, and then copy and paste to the blog using the Paste from Word button:
On posts:
- Write as if you are sharing your thoughts aloud.
- Be sure to say “why” you think or feel something.
- Use examples in your life to make connection.
- Hyperlink anything that helps your post, especially if you are referring to something you read.
- Use pictures or images to help explain your post.
- You can add to someone else’s ideas, but be sure to give them credit. (ex. I agree with Cara when she said…I had the same thoughts as Cara and want to add…)
On comments:
- Say one thing you liked about the post or what they had to say.
- Find one thing you have a different viewpoint about or question about the post, but do it respectfully. (ex. Your point was interesting, but I disagree because…)
- Try and add something to the original discussion.
- Treat it like a conversation.
Blogging is an amazing way to have your voice heard in the classroom! However, when sharing your voice, be sure you follow our Blog and Wiki Warranty.
