  • Lunch Detention is in Room 4 with Mrs. Jacobsen this week.
  • Today’s schedule is: 2, L, 4, 6
  • Lunch today is: BBQ Chicken
  • Breakfast & Lunch Tomorrow: Cinnamon Roll & Pizza
  • CHS- We are so proud of the efforts you’ve made to help the earthquake victims in Haiti! The last day to donate will be Thursday! It looks like the staff are in the lead with the Seniors and Sophomores neck & neck for second! Of course looks can be deceiving, there a lot of large bills in the buckets too! Dig deep into those pockets and donate!
  • Peer Helpers will meet today at lunch.
  • Students, we appreciate your recycling efforts. Please take the lids off your bottles before you recycle them. It is time consuming and messy for students on the recycling committee to have to do it afterwards.
  • Attention Future Problem Solvers, are meetings for this week are as follows:
    • Tuesday after school is Erin’s team & Shannon’s team.
    • Wednesday after school is the 7th grade team, Craig’s team & Ben’s team. This is our last practice before competition, be sure to be prepared and come with your materials. See Mrs. Heitz with questions.
  • Seniors: Below are some scholarships available to you. Please check out the bulletin for more information, or stop by the office.
    The Prince William Sound Community College offers scholarships and grants to qualifying high school graduates that want to attend their college. Applications are available at http://pwscc.edu student services, Financial Aid & Scholarships.

  • Cordova PTA invites you to our next General Membership Meeting: Tuesday January 26th at 7pm at CHS Library. Bring your ideas – cookies will be served. Among other agenda items, nominations for 2010-2011 Board will be recorded and voted on during this meeting. If you would like to make a nomination of someone, or yourself, then please contact Linea Bradford at 424-5803.
  • Seniors: Here are some scholarships available to you.
    • 1. Best Buy at www.bestbuy.com/scholarships . These are $1000 scholarships. 1000 will be awarded. Poster is on the senior board. The deadline is February 15th.
    • 2. If you are a student with economic need you may apply to www.usafunds.org/scholarship. This company will be awarding scholarships in the amount of $1500. 50% of the scholarships will be targeted to students who, in addition to demonstrating financial need, are members of an ethnic minority or are physically disabled. This scholarship will accept applications until February 15th.
    • 3.Truman D. Picard Scholarship is given to Native American/Alaskan students pursuing a higher education in Natural Resources. These applications are due January 29th. This is a $1500 scholarship. For more information, visit www.itcnet.org.
