- Close Up Students sign up for concessions this weekend on Mrs. Adams door.
- FIND THE GOLDEN TICKET! In Willy Wonka, 5 golden tickets are hidden in chocolate bars. Each ticket gets a kid into the candy factory for one night. Right now, there are 5 golden tickets hidden around the school. Find one, and you get into the dance for free. Bring it to Ms. Hollowell when you find it. If you are in Jr. High you can give your ticket to Mrs. Hollowell and get your prize.
- Voting for Homecoming Queen and King will be today at lunch in the library. We’ll be hanging posters for Homecoming on Thursday morning at 8:30. All students on the Homecoming Court – mandatory rehearsal is on Friday morning at 8:30. Please do not be late.
- Homecoming 2010 Dance this Saturday from 9pm-12pm. Admission for juniors and seniors are $10. Admission for freshmen and sophomores is $15 but you get $5 back if you stay to clean up after the dance. All freshmen and sophomores are expected to help decorate on Saturday morning at 9am in the wrestling room. All dance rules apply.
- This week is Homecoming – spirit week for the mighty mighty basketball teams! Today is Camouflage day Thursday is Willy Wonka Day Friday is Wolverine Pride Day Show your spirit and win points for your class by dressing up. Carts will be displayed during Friday’s pep assembly and during halftime of the last game on Saturday night.
- The overdue Library books list is getting long! Lets get these taken care of! - Senior Parents-Packets with Local Scholarships were handed out in lab yesterday, 2/09. If your senior did not receive one please send them to Mrs. Moe for the packet. Missing from the packet were scholarship applications from CEC, the Loyal Order of the Moose, and the Northwind Quilters Guild. Details were being finalized for the preceding three. - Are you a student interested in a medical career? UAA offers a six week intensive summer program for Alaskan high school students who are interested in careers in medicine and other health care careers. The goal of the program is to foster, affirm, and encourage high school students’ interest in health professions through educational enrichment activities and job shadowing. There is no cost to participate in this program. Housing is in the UAA residence hall. Student Opportunity: Young Native Writers Contest Provides Scholarships, Student Trips

(Deadline: April 15) The Holland & Knight Charitable Foundation, Inc. provides funding for the Young Native Writers Essay Contest, which allows Native American high school students to write about their experiences and their history.
Five first-place winners will be chosen to receive scholarships ranging from $1,000 to $5,000, and will be flown to Washington, DC to visit the Nat’l Museum of the American Indian and other prominent sites.
Eligible applicants include Native American and Alaska Native individuals who are enrolled members of a state- or federally-recognized tribe and who are also enrolled in high schools or alternative schools, or are home-schooled. Application information is available on the website.
