This is really amazing and it kind of gives hope to the idea of nine lives! :) a lot of people go through traumatizing things in their lives and survive, whether scarred or not. I find this interesting and I'd have to ask the same question of how you can survive something like this! So, I looked it up and I couldn't find any answers other than the paramedics did a great job resuscitating him after he went into cardiac arrest.

I think it is kind of cool that they jump. You wouldn't even need a fishing pole, just wait long enough and one will jump right into your boat. There is a video on you tube that talks about them. The natural resource center has put up an electrical barrier so they cant get into lake Michigan.
Video:

Wow this is really interesting! it is really surprising to hear of a new species in a suburban area. that really does make you think about what else we could be missing. In the article I read it says that he first heard the distinct croak of the new species three years ago and they are just now confirming that it is a new species. I wonder what the process is in deciding weather it is a new species or not.
Website I read:

This sounds really awesome, and I think it is great that it can help people feel better, but I was also wondering if there where any side effects like in drugs. I know that if I were to get a treatment like this I would be pretty nervous about getting batteries stuck in my brain. I was wondering what made Edi want to commit suicide again after this article was published though. This treatment sounds like it works, but her case seems a little bit more complicated. All in all, this was a really interesting article.

Wow, that's really cool that this whole new species was just right there in front of us. I'm sure that if scientists looked in places that people never go to, they would probably find another new species of animal. It was surprising to me that they found this new species in a suburban area because they are usually pretty populated. I'm not quite sure what this new species of frog could be used for, but it was quite interesting to read about how the major difference between this frog and the other Southern Leopard frogs was its croak.

This spider sounds very interesting. The article says that the door is almost hinged. It's amazing how smart spiders and insects are actually. Us humans just think they are gross, but really they are capable of some incredible things. The article also says that this species is rarely seen individually, but after a male gets mature enough at 5 or 6 years old they leave their burrows and find a female to mate with. Shortly after this they die though. Females live as long as 15 to 20 years. I've never even heard of these spiders, but it says you can find them in quite a few different places. You're first question is something weird to think about, because if they were so close to us people, how come people are just now knowing about them. Makes you think about how there could be so many more species out there that we just aren't aware of.

This blog is interesting. What if they do? That would kind of scary because when you swim at the ocean they know where you are from their vision. They also make a weird pattern. Lévy flight seems to be a new word for me. I read this site http://blogs.discovermagazine.com/discoblog/2010/06/10/hunting-sharks-are-the-mathematicians-of-the-seas/ that it says "Hunting Sharks Are the Mathematicians of the seas when blood hits the water, sharks exactly where to go. They have a very good smell and good vision.

I'm surprised that they invented this kind of cigarette for the people who smokes a lot. I think that the tobacco company should make a lot of this, instead of the non-electrical cigarette that a lot of people used, because the non-electric cigarettes are very dangerous to your health and you can die fast from it. In fact, I haven't seen people use it though. This is something I can recommend to my family that can't help their self quit from smoking. I found this site that says how much it costs. Trust me they are quite expensive. http://www.v2cigs.com/ I bet people order from this site.

http://hardware.slashdot.org/story/12/04/05/0117227/robotic-squirrels-battle-it-out-with-rattlesnakes I thought this was really interesting story. How much do you think it costs just to build one squirrel? Also how many squirrels have been made for this experiment so far? From this website it says its the heat that makes the squirrels more noticeable to the snakes so from that i believe a tailless squirrel would do rather well in the wild.

1. What is your reaction to this story? Explain WHY~ I was very shocked at this documentary, I knew America overused their resources but they made it look so much worse than what I thought.
2. What surprised you? That America contains 5% of the world population but we use 30% of our resources.
3. What did you have questions about? What percent of the world’s population is under fed?
4. What are you skeptical about? I think it was a little ridiculous to say that for every one trash can we produce 70 more were made just to make that trash.
5. What important points did you identify? That 30% of kids in the in the Congo dropped out of school to mine for radio materials. Also that 99% of things we buy gets throw out 6 months later.
6. What do you think was Annie’s purpose in creating the video? To inform people of how much we over use things and how we can’t keep on living this way without consequences.
7. How effective was she in presenting her arguments? Explain. It was pretty convincing because It certainly made me want to change my ways.
8. How effective was she in helping you make decisions and getting you to take action? Explain. Next time I take out the garbage or buy food at the store I will put a little more thought into it.
