For my line I choose is from the poem Walden by Henry David Thoreau “If a man does not keep pace with his companions, perhaps it is because he hears a different drummer. Let him step to the music which he hears, however measured or far away.” I thought that this quote really spoke to me cause people tell me that “I’m one of a kind” even some people have called me weird, but for me I take it as a compliment cause it’s good to be different it means that you have different thinking to other people and that you can bring new ideas to the table. I also think that this quote speaks to anybody that people call different or weird, to the people that are called weird or think that they are I say “embrace your weirdness.” If some people that were called weird or different then we wouldn’t have all the cool things we have like if Steve Jobs didn’t embrace his differentness then we wouldn’t have IPhone and iPods that we have today
Also if Abraham Lincoln changed his way of think then slavery would still be a thing today, but since Abraham thought differently he was able to end slavery and probably make U.S. the most diverse country in the world. Henry David Thoreau’s quote speaks the most to me and anyone who thinks that they seem different I support weird people and I know that these people can make the world a better world and definitely a interesting world to live in. When somebody first called me weird I felt like sad and angry that I’m different from everybody else, but I soon learned that it’s good that your different from everybody else. Now whenever somebody calls me weird now I’m think it as a compliment cause I could do awesome things in the future that no one has seen and become famous.
